Chardonnay and Mother’s Day the perfect combo…

Chardonnay and Mother’s Day really are a perfect combo—

I love Chardonay it’s a graceful white wine depending on the style. For me, Chardonnay is always a great choice for celebrations, and versatile enough to pair with anything from brunch to an elegant dinner.

A lovely thought for Mother’s Day — Stags’ Leap Winery Chardonnay, it’s layered, rich and crisp with just the right amount of oak… creaminess, and citrus freshness making it very food-friendly, and a thoughtful wine for a delicious Mother’s Day menu. Pairs with spring flavors, I’m thinking herbs, seafood, lemon, light cream sauces, and garden veggies… Yes, this is all classic Chardonnay territory.

Brunch to Dinner flexibility too, from egg dishes like omelets to lobster ravioli, it keeps pace with the day’s menu. By the way, did you know the correct spelling for the egg omelet is "omelette" in British English and "omelet" in American English. Both spellings are acceptable and refer to the same dish. However, the French origin of the word explains the "e" in "omelette," while the silent "t" in "omelet" is a residue of the French pronunciation. I never knew.

In the meantime, for a traditional choice try a lemon-pepper roasted whole chicken or a simple healthy chicken breast.

Here are a few food pairings for Chardonnay, so you can match your vino with the vibe of your brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert too. For instance, above is my simple lemon-pepper oven roasted chicken breast with marinated artichoke hearts. Below, my crabcakes with fresh sliced mangos. Yes, and for dessert mini pastries like berries, key lime pie, or a lemon tart.

AND… Just like mom, Chardonnay can be vibrant, zesty or smooth, and luxurious… Perhaps paired with a lemon meringue pie. It just so happens lemon meringue pie is my mother’s favorite dessert. I love lemon meringue pie, my siblings hate it, but my mom and I love lemon meringue pie paired with a lovely Chardonnay. A nice simple Toast to mom the “Chardonnay way” could also be a big bowl of truffle popcorn and an old movie on Netflix.

Or celebrate mom and take her out to a show!

A big thanks to my friends at Stags’ Leap Winery for their VIP tickets to the Cirque du Soleil ECHO show production. Stags’ Leap Winery is the official partner of Cirque du Soleil in the United States, including the production show of ECHO.

I’ve always been a big fan of Stags’ Leap Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon… however I will say their Chardonnay is outstanding too!

The intriguing ECHO production explores themes of universal connection, and the unique bond between humans, and the animal kingdom. The show captured and brought together all the magical artistry of Cirque du Soleil, and I will say the exquisite winemaking tradition of Stags’ Leap Winery.

Happy Mother’s Day!

P.S I’ve included below a few of my VIP pics at the Cirque Du Soleil ECHO show in Houston, Texas—March 2025.
