Domaine Bousquet food pairing thoughts

Last year a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Labid al Ameri from Domiane Bousquet. Labid was here in Houston for a day and preparing to teach an evening cooking class for the Central Market. Unfortunately due to a prior engagement, I could not attend Labid’s evening cooking class. Instead, that early afternoon I did have the opportunity to taste a nice selection of Domaine Bousquet wines. While sipping their Brut Rosé, I had a moment to ask Labid a few questions about his cooking class, we talked about about his food pairing ideas and some of his favorite recipes. I mentioned, I too enjoy cooking and look forward to pairing some Domain Bousquet wines with a few of my meals. All this being said, a few days after our conversation, I received three wines to sample and pair; Domaine Bousquet Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and reserve Malbec. Since then, I was able to find the Gaia white blend at Kroger for $16.99 in the Houston Heights and the lovely Brut Rosé at the Central Market for $14.95 in the Houston Galleria. Here in Houston you can also find Domaine Bousquet at HEB and the Houston downtown Spec’s.

What is important to remember about Domaine Bousquet is their wines are made with organically grown grapes from the Tupungato Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, and also Vegan friendly. Enjoy!

Domaine Bousquet Sparkling Brut Rosé is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. I enjoyed along with Wagyu beef patties, sun-dried tomatoes and sautéed shishito peppers. While channeling my inner Latina cooking skills, I prepared oven roasted corn on the cob. Delivered the task along with all the fixings and sipping Gaia white blend  50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Gris, and 15% Sauvignon Blanc.Gaia white blend food pairing complete with a roasted chicken breast bone in!

Chardonnay paired with roasted Cornish hen over wild rice and steamed artichokes!

Cabernet and hot pastrami sandwich! Especially a hot pastrami from Spec’s deli located in downtown Houston!! AND, Specs carries a wide array of Domaine Bousquet organic wines.Malbec! Loved this Malbec with a food takeout order of eggplant parmigiana from Pronto Cucina located in the Houston Montrose area.
