Wrapping up wine bloggers conference #WBC18 in Walla Walla, Washington. I arrived back home in Houston, Texas very late Sunday evening, and completely exhausted. BUT…filled with lots of good memories, and tasting some of Washington state’s best wines! Unfortunately, I did NOT get the opportunity to check out Red Mountain AVA and only tasted a few of their awesome wines. However, I knew back home in Houston, one of my favorite wine shop’s Vinology, had a bottle of Hedges Family Estate 2013 Red Mountain Syrah waiting for me. So Monday afternoon I kicked back, relaxed, and opened my bottle of Red Mountain 100% Syrah…100% wonderful, and paired this fine wine with some easy-to-make lamb chops.
Yes! Lamb is easy to make, I use Penzeys spices… so cooking at home is made super easy… AND, Penzeys makes a wonderful “lamb seasoning”. With a small rack of lamb, I just added juice from one squeezed lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper, then massaged lamb with Penzeys seasoning. Popped lamb in the oven, baking for 40-45 minutes at 375°.
Oh là là!! Que será será… Lamb always tastes better with an outstanding Syrah!
