Merlot Me with L’Ecole No 41

Pardon my French, BUT can you please #MerlotMe?!? For Merlot lovers the month of October is the time to celebrate with all OUR Merlot favorites using social media hashtag identifier #MerlotMe. AND, now the Merlot movement #MerlotMe has its own website too, with all sorts of delicious ideas on how to celebrate!

The wine bloggers conference has been a fun place to learn and taste great wines… like these exquisite Merlot! At my first conference #WBC14 in Santa Barbara County, California, I had opportunity to attend the Merlot masterclass hosted by Duckhorn Vineyards and Rutherford Hill. Since then, I wholeheartedly appreciate the charm and finesse of Merlot made by these two legendary producers. Earlier this month, opportunity presented itself again at wine bloggers conference #WBC18 in Walla Walla, Washington with another “Masters of Merlot” class (pictured below) hosted by Duckhorn and this time partnered with Washington State’s L’Ecole No 41. This masterclass was hands down the most memorable Merlot tasting experience in all my years of blogging and sharing thoughts about the wine conference!

Back home in Houston, Texas, I found a bottle of 2014 L’Ecole No 41 Merlot from Columbia Valley at Total Wine for $27.99. AND past weekend celebrated this October “Merlot month” with friends sharing this wine with grilled fillets (featured picture above). LOVE it when my friends tell me how much they like the wine. BUT, even happier that my friends are now part of the #MerlotMe movement too!

  • Of course my favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio Texas pours @villasandi Prosecco!! @paesanosriverwalk is celebrating 50 years of wonderful food, and family experience. I can honestly say I enjoyed Paesano’s 40+ years ago...it’s my father’s favorite place to dine while visiting San Antonio. Back in those days Paesano’s was located off McCollough Avenue. Now, Paesano’s has a posh place in the lovely Riverwalk. I didn’t even have to look at the menu, ordered the Shrimp Paesano, and it’s still the most incredible meal. Cheers to your 50th years Paesano’s. I can’t wait to come back and visit San Antonio! #sanantoniotexas #sanantonioriverwalk #villasandiprosecco #prosecco #shrimppaesano
